Cheryl Buol joined The Hayman Company in 1991 as a Regional Manager and was promoted to her current position. She has established cost cutting training techniques to maintain the financial success of the communities and continued returns to investors. Cheryl has written and implemented all Hayman management procedures to ensure consistent operations nationally. Through establishing an aggressive employee bonus and recognition program, which motivates and rewards through performance, The Hayman Company is able to maintain and attract long-term employees and committed individuals. Her responsibilities include: supervision of seven Regional Managers and residential developments collectively located in 12 states; development and establishment of corporate operating procedures; direction, development, and coordination of corporate company policy; chairmanship of monthly financial reviews to ensure strong asset management; oversight of preparation of annual budgets to enhance and achieve optimum value; review and approval of marketing programs placed to achieve optimal financial success of the communities; and the integrity of the asset, both financially and physically. She is on the National Apartment Association Board of Directors as a Regional Vice President as well as a member of the NAA Faculty and a NAA Lyceum Graduate; a member of the National Association of Realtors; past President of the Arizona Multi-Housing Association; and past President of the Detroit Metropolitan Apartment Association. Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin, and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in both Arizona and Wisconsin.
Sharon Carbaugh, CPM
Senior VP and Director of Operations
WRH Realty Services, Inc.
Sharon Carbaugh has served as Senior VP and Director of Operations for WRH Realty Services, Inc. since its inception. She is responsible for implementing strategy to achieving optimum financial and operational performance for each asset in her portfolio as directed by WRH Mortgage/Properties and/or third party clients. She strives to exceed the goals set by clients in all aspects of the property operations. She is responsible for the direction of the Training and Development Department. She is passionate about training with the understanding that training the team is an important key to successful property management. She shares responsibility for guiding WRH Realty Services’ vision, corporate culture and strategic planning for long term growth and profitability. Sharon brings over 28 years experience and expertise in the multifamily industry to create and implement precise business plans that achieve the financial objectives of all WRH clients. Prior to joining WRH Realty Services, Inc., Sharon served as Vice President with LEDIC/RCA Management Group and was responsible for the management and operations of multi-family properties across multiple states. Beginning in 1988, Sharon served as a Vice President for Clark Lauderdale Company (CLC), Inc. managing all aspects in the operations of 8,000 units for multiple clients. Prior to that, Sharon operated and managed multifamily assets for three management groups beginning in 1983. Sharon is a Certified Property Manager (CPM) with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), on the National Education Committee for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), a member of the National Multi-Housing Committee (NMHC), a member of the National Apartment Association (NAA), ACES formerly Society of Apartment Supervisors (SOAPS), a Realtor and a member of several local and chapter associations. She brings experience in all classes of conventional multifamily property management from Luxury to physically and market challenged assets. She has experience with new development, tax credit, government housing, renovation and repositioning assets.
Dan Haefner
President
Cocke Finkelstein, Inc.
Mr. Haefner has been involved in multifamily real estate for over 30 years, and he most recently joined Cocke Finkelstein as President in January 2012. Prior to joining Cocke Finkelstein Mr. Haefner served as Executive Director of Multifamily Management, overseeing all multifamily operations for Drucker & Falk, and prior to that he held positions of President of Sales, Inc., a multifamily accelerated leasing company, President and Chief Information Officer of Lane Management, President of Lane Asset Management and Vice President of Asset Management with Insignia Residential Group. Mr. Haefner is a graduate of St. Mary’s College in Moraga, California, with honors in Business Management. He is a Board Member of the Community Life Concepts non-profit organization, and a past Board Member of the National Multi Housing Council, the Georgia Apartment Association, Atlanta Apartment Association, the Georgia Apartment Industry Educational Fund and Rent Bureau.
Andrea Hurn
Vice President

Andrea Hurn has worked for Sterling Management since early 2004. As Vice President, she directs 1 Assistant Vice President, 6 Regional Directors, Director of Marketing and Training and the Director of Management; and is responsible for the success of over 7,000 apartment units, 6,000 self storage units and 20,000+ square feet of commercial space. She works closely with property teams to ensure each community and facility reflects the company’s high standards and the owner’s expectations in the areas of financial performance, marketing, leasing, training, maintenance and customer service. Before joining Sterling Management, Hurn worked with several management companies including Trammel Crow, Avalon Bay, and Marquette Management where she served as a Property Manager, Senior Manager and Regional Manager for 8.5 years prior to joining the Sterling Team. She has extensive experience in numerous product types including Section 42 Tax Credit Senior and Family, Historic Mixed Use Tax Credit, High-rise, Mid-rise and Garden style Conventional Housing, and some Commercial; and in all aspects of property management, marketing, new business development, and training. Hurn has been described as a visionary leader and consummate mentor by her team, which currently numbers over 300 colleagues in Sterling’s management division. She is charged with developing Sterling Management’s strategic plan and growing the business both internally and externally; and has a consistent track record of increasing the value of assets under her leadership. At Sterling, she initiated a comprehensive online policy and procedures manual, reduced delinquencies and write-offs below 1.5% (of GPR) across the portfolio and revitalized the working relationship with Compliance Department. Hurn also works directly with the IT and Marketing departments in order to stay competitive in the marketplace. Active in professional organizations, she is a member of the Ball State Residential Property Management Advisory Board and an active member of National Multi Housing Council. Hurn is a graduate of the University of Michigan and is presently pursing her CCIM candidacy.
Brian Kroker
Vice President Asset Management & Operations
O’Neill Properties
Brian Kroker is Vice President Asset Management & Operations for O’Neill Properties, a large regional real estate company. O’Neill is known as a Brownfield developer with a reputation for transforming unused and abandoned areas into thriving communities. Presently, the company has over 5,000 apartment units in various stages of development. Mr. Kroker has over thirty years of expertise in the areas of real estate asset management, finance, accounting, property management, operations, marketing, and acquisitions/dispositions. He has an outstanding track record of growing and improving companies, in terms of asset size, net operating income, and valuation. Mr. Kroker has a reputation as an outside the box thinker, constantly looking for creative ways to improve operating results. Mr. Kroker has worked for several large real estate companies including Signature Community which at its peak had 3500 apartment units in 17 markets across the country. He played a key role in building the brand, growing the company, and transforming many of the communities. Presently, Mr. Kroker manages O’Neill’s property management company which is responsible for both it’s commercial and residential properties.
Brenda Lindner, CPM
Senior Vice President of Operations
RAM Partners
Brenda Lindner brings nearly two decades of property management experience to her role as Senior Vice President of Operations for RAM Partners. Lindner oversees all aspects of property management, providing direct leadership for RAM’s Area Vice Presidents as well as providing comprehensive support and consulting to her clients and employees alike. Experience with assets in the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southwest has contributed to Lindner’s ability to successfully manage new construction, lease-ups and reposition troubled assets. She has experience with all asset types including high rise, mid-rise, garden and mixed use developments. Lindner spearheads RAM Partners’ expansion into, and the implementation of, new technologies available in the multifamily industry, including smart phone apps and the paperless office. As the titular head of the Training Department, Lindner is instrumental in the development of employee training modules in addition to refining Company Policies and Procedures to keep with the ever-changing markets. Lindner began her tenure with RAM Partners in 1995 as an Executive Property Manager, rising to Area Vice President and VP of Operations before achieving her current role. She earned a BS in Business at Illinois State University and holds the CPM® (Certified Property Manager) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management.
Donna Summers, CPM

Gables Residential
Donna Summers is currently Vice President of Operations for the West region at Gables Residential. This region includes TX, CA, AZ and WA, and is made up of a variety of multi-family and mixed-use assets. Currently her role encompasses all aspects of property operations and includes oversight of operational corporate initiatives for the company. Donna has over 26 years of experience in property management. Her career began with Trammell Crow/Gables where she spent 11 years in a variety of operational roles. Upon leaving Gables she worked for companies such as Archstone and Greystar in various positions including Vice President of the Dallas Region for Greystar where she primarily operated A to C product for third party owners. Before returning to Gables Residential in 2005, Donna worked for FirstWorthing where she was Director of Operations and Asset Management. While at First Worthing Donna worked with both conventional housing and student housing projects. She holds her CPM designation and is a member of the Dallas IREM chapter and she is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas. In 2004, Donna was named to Apartment Professional’s “Women to Watch” list.
